We are pleased to announce the first annual CViSB Systems Biology workshop February 20-22, 2019 in La Jolla, CA. The workshop will focus on viral systems biology and the application of phylogenetic methods on the study of viruses. In addition, participants will hear from expert science communicators about the importance of effectively conveying scientific findings to the public.
Leading infectious diseases researchers including Jennifer Gardy, Andrew Rambaut, Nick Loman, Tami Lieberman, Philippe Lemey, Michael Worobey, Sidney Bell and Nidia Travao will present. Special guest, Ed Yong, journalist for The Atlantic, will be giving a talk open to the public.
Course directors, Kristian Andersen and Marc Suchard, will lead hands-on tutorials interspersed with guest lectures. Participants will bring data to analyze during the tutorials and receive direction from course directors and invited speakers.
